Raghunath and the Prime Minister request Gangadhar separately to allow them to come to Lord Shiva's temple for the religious ceremony. Laxmibai decides to go Goddess Kali's temple and asks her maids to keep an eye on the king while she is away. Meanwhile, at Lord Shiva's temple, the rope to which the temple bell is attached catches fire, while Gangadhar stands below it to pray. On the other hand, a mysterious lady appears at Goddess Kali's temple and gives Laxmibai offerings. She advises her to pray to the sky and earth at Lord Shiva's temple. Laxmibai reaches the temple, and Gangadhar and she offer their prayers to the Lord. Laxmibai recalls what the mysterious lady had asked her to do, and when she looks up, she sees the temple bell falling on the king. She rushes towards him and pushes him. However, she gets hurt and collapses. Gangadhar tells Laxmibai that she must have known about the conspiracy beforehand, so he asks her who the culprit is.
