Motibai and Gangadhar Rao rehearse their lines for the play. The King is impressed with Motibais acting. Meanwhile, Manu vows that she would not let Motibai succeed in her plan. Tatya Guru warns Fraser not to challenge Queen Manikarnika. He threatens Fraser of dire consequence if he continues to torture Samar Singh. Later, Fraser asks Samar Singh why Manu wants to save him but he remains silent. When Manu prays in front of the Goddess for strength, the sword on the deity falls. Manu drags Motibai to Gangadhars court and exposes the courtesan in front of him and the assembly. She says that Motibai was an accomplice of the British and had plotted with them to kill Gangadhar. A furious Gangadhar Rao orders his men to imprison Motibai, and sentences her to death.
