SEUNG-LING applies to leave the palace to visit her children, so YEE-HO informs SU-LAN to relay Lady YUE-YUET’s approval, yet SU-LAN fails to do so. Upon SEUNG-LING’s return, SU-LAN spots that there is a letter in her hand. SEUNG-LING, with CHI-HEEN’s help, goes to meet BA-CHA in the Imperial Pharmacy, where she scolds him right away as he almost makes her court disaster. Regretting that he has spread rumors for Lady SHUN, TUNG TAI attempts to commit suicide but in vain, so he begs CHI-HEEN to provide him some poison.
