A ruthless story of a loner.

Based on a true story. Two fighters of 'Donbas' Volunteer Battalion get locked inside city of Ilovaysk after regular Russian army enters Ukraine and shells the surrounded divisions of Ukrainian Army in the infamous would-be 'green corridor'. The fighters survive thanks to the help of the locals and manage to break out through the front line to reach the freed territory. Taras Kostanchuk who is playing himself as 'Beshoot' is that same Donbas commander who is the prototype of the story. Half of the actors and extras are real 'Donbas' volunteers who survived the battle.

The film explores the feelings of ordinary people involved in a global conflict – a war. The authors show a simple story of the detention of Ukrainian soldier Mykola by a German commandant from the point of view of Mykola’s grandson, who was born 46 years after the war.

Olga's husband were missing on the East Ukraine, in military events. In desperate to find him, Olga comes to the witches, who tell her that her husband died. Emotionally destroyed woman does not want to live without her beloved, the witches offered her to drink infusion of mandrake and "all will be forgotten and sorrow and life will pass." Olga is ready for everything only to subsided her emotional pain, but the ritual is going wrong, events of this world and after-world are woven into a tight knot, when it is impossible to separate life from death.
