Blending dramatic situations with a documentary-influenced visual style, Happy Birthday looks in at a typical day in a Russian maternity hospital. The patients range from a middle aged woman pleased if surprised by her current pregnancy to a Muslim woman whose marriage to a Russian has blighted her relationship with her family. No matter what their situations, the women draw strength and support from each other as they share their common experience.

Lilya (Marina Zubanova) is an approaching-middle-age singleton who lives with and cares for her grandfather and works at a chicken factory. She is determined to get married soon, but hasn’t quite found the man for the job. Most of the story revolves around various failed dates, her conversations with coworkers and family members, and her innocent stalking of a talented local pianist.

A completely prosperous couple on their own brand new Volga got lost in the desert. And when they joyfully rushed towards the truck, counting on help, it turned out that there were two recidivists in the cab who had just escaped from the colony ...

The director from the” old guard " comes to the film studio to discuss the shooting of his film. A whole squad of new tolerant producers, imposed by the censored film critics, is waiting for him in the office. Their main task is to turn the film about ordinary guys and traditional values conceived by Kostya upside down. The comments mainly relate to racial and gender issues, according to the agenda... One day a ram appears in the village with a mysterious inscription on its side and immediately "everything is mixed up in the "Wonderful Valley": fathers and children, love and hate, oligarchs and shepherds, drugs and magic sheep... And the result is ... three whole weddings!»

In this heavyhanded political allegory, set in the plains and mountains of Central Asia, a tribe of people led by the fanatical Mavrut (Vladimir Msrian) wanders about in the most desolate parts of this already desolate region in search of a mythical "Land of Happiness." Their quest is hampered by the fact that they must all live a life which is extremely ascetic. One tribeswoman expresses a desire to have a child, but is rebuked by being reminded that she has vowed never to have worldly ties that would distract her from the quest. When she has a child anyway, she and her lover are made to pay for this crime in a horrific way. Despite that, the child becomes a kind of holy mascot for the group, touted by the leader as a kind of savior. They are distressed when the child goes missing one day, only to appear mysteriously on the opposite side of the rapids of a river, beckoning to them.

The Russian team that has never won gold. And the Brazilian national team, caressed by contracts, victories and loyal fans. Many people think that the outcome of the game is predetermined. But few people yet know what place this final occupies in the life of each of the Russian athletes.

The plot is based on the story of a former teacher who became one of the leaders of the party leadership of Uzbekistan, involved in the "cotton business". He is accidentally killed by his own son in a shootout with assassins of party mafiosi.

Surgeon Alim Sabirov, fearing for the patient’s life, offers his services to Valieva, a protégé of the head of the hospital, who is preparing to defend her dissertation. Due to an unsuccessful operation, the patient dies. But Valieva intends to continue her career in surgery and asks Sabirov to sign a certificate of death, allegedly due to heart failure. The hero does not sign the conclusion and, moreover, begins a decisive fight against the unrest in the hospital.
